the studio
Our studio is located in the Carpeaux neighborhood of Montmartre. The apartment building is a fine example of the art déco style. It is a typical Parisian 'pierre de taille' apartment building, with 8 floors and is centrally heated. (Remember: in France, the ground floor is Floor 0; one flight up is Floor 1.)
The apartment is on the top floor -- hence, the great view of the Basilica and the rooftops -- easily accessed by a lovely classic birdcage elevator. The building is situated on the quiet, residential side of the Butte de Montmartre, close enough for access to all the city's delights, but far enough away from the tourists that populate the Place du Tertre. Within walking distance of the glitzy thrills of Pigalle, yet close enough (and quiet enough) to hear the chime of the bells of Sacré Cœur.
The separate kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a small wine rack, microwave, oven, electric water kettle, and state-of-the- art ceramic stove-top. We have also provided dishes, glasses, and flatware. There is also a teapot and a drip-filter for coffee.
Our flat has been furnished in a warm personal style with the comfort of our guests in mind. It has the charm of a typical Parisian apartment, and at 30 square meters accommodates comfortably a couple with a Queen sized bed.
The double glazed windows look out over the Butte of Montmartre and offer a spectacular view of the Sacre Coeur. We also offer flat screen television, wifi internet access (with your own laptop), free local telephone calls and quality linens, kitchenware and tableware.
The bathroom is bright and convenient, with a sink, bathtub, and shower. Most importantly, and somewhat unique for Paris there is excellent water pressure for those long morning showers!
